As we all enjoy chocolatey treats this time of year, it's important to remember: chocolate is toxic to pets — and not just dogs!

Cats 🐱, rabbits 🐇, and rodents 🐭 can also be affected by theobromine, the toxic ingredient found in the cocoa plant.

Not all chocolate is created equal!
White, milk, and dark chocolate contain different levels of theobromine — so the risk varies depending on the type and how much is eaten.

Chocolate toxicity ⚠️ can cause a variety of symptoms.
If your pet has helped themselves to the Easter goodies, always contact your veterinary practice for advice.
